Espresso. Mac web development, now more productive than caffeine.

Freedom to Extend

The truth is that we can not make Espresso perfect for everyone out of the box. That's why Espresso has an extensive plug-in architecture. To add new languages, CodeSense support and much more, you won't need to write a single line of code: everything goes into ultra-readable XML files. We call these plug-ins Sugars — after all, they make Espresso so much sweeter.

Tapping into the awesomeness

Espresso's built-in functionality uses the exact same Sugar Development Kit that will be available for everyone else. That has one major consequence: every Sugar can be just as great as the built-in functionality! Sugars are never second-class citizens, and they'll get even better as Espresso grows.

Getting Sugars

If you're interested in making your own sugars or would just like to check out what sugars are in the works, browse the Espresso Sugar Forums or have a look at Coffee House aggregator.

Requirements & Demo

Espresso requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard or higher. Try it full-featured for 15 days to make up your mind. After the trial period, restrictions apply.

What's Built In?

Espresso has support for HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript and PHP out of the box. Publish using FTP, SFTP, FTP/SSL or Amazon S3.

More third-party language Sugars and themes are available at the Coffee House.
